Super rijksmuseum Tycoon
Money making game, in the famous dutch rijksmuseum
December 2024 - Januari 2025
Project discription
This project was for school, and we needed to create a game that would encourage younger audiences to visit the museum.
We developed an idle game where players buy paintings and earn money from customers.
The game was made using Unity, with assets created in Blender.
It was a group project consisting of two developers and three artists. We had five weeks to develop the game and one additional week to brainstorm ideas.
Project review
I didn’t really enjoy this project because our group didn’t work together as well as I had hoped, but we still managed to get things done.
I learned new techniques for the NavMeshAgent, as well as new ways to work with lists.
Process

The developers
The first task I worked on was creating the customers. This included:
Spawning them
Making them walk to specific paintings
Making them leave the building
After that, I needed to implement a way to earn money. I did this by creating a list of all the paintings so that customers could select a few from the list. A corresponding amount of money would then be given.
The other developer worked on:
Buying paintings
Placing paintings
Removing paintings
Creating an interactive shop and inventory

The artists
Of course, I don’t know the artists' process in detail, but I do know what they created:
Game idea and prototyping
Building layout
Customer visuals and animations
Shop and inventory UI
Sounds (not implemented in the game)
